Driver Standards


Driver Age and Experience:

    1. Minimum Age is 23 and must meet all other DOT requirements.

    2. Minimum of 2 years of current commercial driving experience in a comparable class of vehicle.


Ineligible Drivers:

    1. Any driver without a valid CDL.

    2. Any driver with more than 2 at-fault accidents in the past 3 years OR more than 1 at-fault accident in the past year.

    3. Any driver with more than 4 moving violations (including at-fault accidents) in the past 3 years OR more than 2 moving violations (including at-fault accidents) in the past year.

    4. Any driver with one of the following violations regardless of time period:
          a) homicide involving a vehicle
          b) using a vehicle to elude an officer
          c) hit and run
          d) manslaughter with a vehicle
          e) felony with a vehicle
          f) false report to police
          g) permitting an unlicensed person to drive

    5. Any driver convicted of one of the following within the latest 3 year period:
          a) driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
          b) refusing an alcohol or drug test
          c) reckless driving
          d) driving more than 20 mph over the speed limit or any speed in excess of 84mph
          e) any railroad crossing violation

    6. Any driver convicted of more than 5 of the following non-moving violations within the latest 24 month period:
          a) defective equipment
          b) oversize
          c) overweight
          d) log book violations

    7. Any driver who is not DOT qualified.
